Black Jack - Introduction
Blackjack, one of the most popular card games in Croatian casinos but its popularity is spread also in European and American ones.
Even if much of blackjack’s popularity is linked with United States of America, Blackjack appeared during the 17th century in France, where a game called Vingt-et-un was played in French casinos.
Its name derives from some bonuses that were given to players with one ace of spades together with a Black Jack, a Jack of Clubs or even with a Jack of Spades.
In the United States and in Europe the myth of Blackjack it’s still alive. For example, we can see it in E. Thorpe’s researches, a mathematician who tried to find the most favorable cards’ combination. Even the cinema pays attention to this game: Dustin Hoffman won an Oscar for the movie “Rain Man”, in which he played the role of an autistic blackjack player.
The game is played with a stack of six standard decks of 52 cards each. You play against the house in order to achieve the card total of 21 or to approach 21 without going over.
